Welcome to jimslist

This page was born out of the idea by Jim Howell (LaGrande HS) that there should be an easy, but perhaps non-obtrusive, way for band directors to communicate using the OBDA website.  So until I find a free forum feature from this provider and since we don't have a directory ( you should be able to email any OMEA member through www.oregonmusic.org ), I will maintain an online classified ads page, heretofor known as jimslist.

Looking for Two Hebrew Folk Songs, arr. Ward.  Would like to do it for my Holiday Show this year. Any help is great!

Inventory Software Q:  I have used Pyware Music Office for quite some time, but was
discontinued a couple of years ago.  The district wants to know what
other schools are using for software when compiling their band
inventory, our do you just use Excel, or a similar spreadsheet?  Any
help would be appreciated.

Greetings everyone,
The Robinhood Festival Marching Band is assemblying once again for its 8th
year.
The parade will be Saturday, July 19th at 10:00 a.m. in Sherwood.
Rehearsals will be as follows (it is not mandatory to make all rehearsals,
but please attend at least one and if you have to choose, please shoot for
the last rehearsal before the parade):
All rehearsals are at Sherwood Middle School 21970 SW Sherwood Blvd.,
Sherwood, OR
Monday, July 7th 7-8 p.m.(percussion only)
Wednesday July 9th 7-8 p.m.
Monday July 14th 7-8 p.m.
Thursday July 17 7-8 p.m.
We are planning on playing 3 songs this year:  "I Want Candy,"
"Celebration," and "Hey Baby."  If you need music, I can PDF you the parts.
We take all players of all ages of all abilities.  I am hoping for 100
musicians this year and hopefully a return of the baton twirlers from two
years ago.  Feel free to forward this email to anyone who might be
interested in playing.
Please email me back if you plan to play, I need your instrument and t-shirt
size if you don't have one from past years.
There is no cost to play, t-shirts are provided for free.  We march in
comfortable shoes, and khaki shorts or pants.
I can be reached via email or my home number 503-625-3951.
Sincerely,
-Kevin Noreen, Director

Does anyone have "The Flintstones" chart (for big band, of course.)  I
think it was Mantooth?

Does anybody happen to have the march to the original animated "Lord of the Rings?"  It came out in the late 70's? early 80's and is no longer in print.  Good little march, great horn part.

I have hundreds (possibly thousands) of small, marching size band books in dozens of different titles and varieties.  Some are complete sets but most are not.  I was going to pitch them but somebody said something about a clearing house for people who collect such things.  Does anyone know about this or have a use for them other than mulch?  Russ Carpenter  rcarpenter@mpsd.k12.or.us 20080429

Renaissance Triptych.   Arr. for band by George T. Kirck.  Shawnee Press

Looking for an article in a back issue of the Instrumentalist Magazine? Give me a shout! Ive got what appears to be a nearly complete set going back to the early 1950s. Ill know more when my archive storage boxes come in and I have a chance to organize the stacks. In the mean time, I may be able to find what youre looking for.

- I am trying to build/add to the limited array of percussion instruments in the Banks

School District. If anyone has used equipment that they would like to liquidate, consider selling us your old equipment? We desire a marimba, a vibraphone, xylophone, and a set of chimes.

ALSO

I am looking to borrow ANITRA'S DANCE from the discontinued Ellington-Lincoln Center

Jazz collection? I will be very nice to your music---that's a promise! Ron LaGrone

RonL@banks.k12.or.us  20080213

- Anybody out there have scores for "Suite on Greek Love Songs" by Lijnschooten? I ordered some but they are on a slow boat from Denmark and won't get here before contest.   Rick Tippets   20080212

- Looking for 3 parts to Shuma by Jack Peterson, Outrageous Mother, Inc. c.1975.  Flute, Alto 2, and Bass.  Parts are on blueprint paper and are water damaged.  Thanks.  Al Kato / Jesuit HS  20080130

- Does any one have or know of any cheap used timpani I can buy/borrow,  I do have some money in the budget, but nowhere near the $10,000 it costs for a new set.  a couple hundred per drum maybe; 4 would be great, but 2 is better then nothing.   thanx.

Nathan Parker / Mt Angel School DIstrict 20080130

- Does anyone have a copy of the parts and score for Puddle Jumpin'  from Kendor / Doug Beach?  The chart is out of print.
Thanks....Rich Dickson / Stayton HS 20080119

- Wanted:  Frame to support full set of concert chimes (I'm assuming 1.5 octave, 1-1/4 inch tubes).  His old one is falling apart but the chimes are fine.
