This page was born out of the idea by Jim Howell (LaGrande HS) that there should be an easy, but perhaps non-obtrusive, way for band directors to communicate using the OBDA website. So until I find a free forum feature from this provider and since we don't have a directory ( you should be able to email any OMEA member through www.oregonmusic.org ), I will maintain an online classified ads page, heretofor known as jimslist.

resolved/unavailable 20100618 I have lots of Bass Drums, Quads, Marching Snare Drums that I am surplusing because we are moving to a new school this summer. There are harnesses as well. I was wondering if anyone of you or anyone that you know might need/want them. It sure seems like a waste to get rid of all of these drums, some are actually in pretty good shape. There are enough instruments that are in good shape for an entire drum line. The Portland Community Wind Band is looking for a copy of Blue Shades to borrow. Please contact Cynthia Plank at
4 – quads
8 - bass drums
4 - snare drums
Plus harnesses.
Let me know ASAP if you find anyone that might want/need them!! Please feel free to forward this email to anyone.
Thanks,

Does anyone have the out-of-print concert band work by James Curnow called Canadian Folk Song Rhapsody? I would love to borrow it if you would consider lending it to me! It is on the 4A list, but not available from the publisher. Thanks, Rich Dickson, Stayton HS 20091124
Wonderful set of 2 Dynasty 6 pack Marching Drums with vests plus covers... Lightly used at Conestoga in fine condition.... contact me 503-913-4145 or email sally_kuhns@beavton.k12.us Anybody have an old Tuba Tamer you do not want or need? Functional or non, I can make it work. Someone donated a nice Conn 24j to my school, but they are bigger beasties than most middle schoolers can handle... Budget cuts mean I do not have the $$ for a new one. If you have one in the store room taking up space, let me know... you can contact me at

FOR SALE: Brand New Cannonball Big Bell Stone Series Baritone Sax. Regular gold finish. This is the resonator stone series Baritone Sax with all the cool tiger eye stones. The extra keys, two necks, mouthpiece, gear bags, and so forth. In the beautiful hard case. This Sax has been played on maybe five times, just to check the tone. It's never been in a rehearsal or concert. It was purchased for an up and coming player, and now the family has lost their jobs, and can't pay me back. I will sacrifice this for about $4,200.00 because I need most of my money back on this. Paid more. Contct Marcia Stevens, Cascade H.S., Turner at either mjstevens@cascade.k12.or.us or 503-749-8280 and leave a message. I would be willing to work out shipping or transportation to it's new home within reason. Wish I could keep this for my own band, but I just bought one last year. I can't affort two! 20090222

Inventory Software Q: I have used Pyware Music Office for quite some time, but was
discontinued a couple of years ago. The district wants to know what
other schools are using for software when compiling their band
inventory, our do you just use Excel, or a similar spreadsheet? Any
help would be appreciated.
